Adult Education Teachers make their case for Tenure to LA Unified School Board (Oct 13, 2009) including Career Teachers who are also single moms. Says one teacher, “Imagine this…Department of Adult & ‘Career’ Education refuses to give teachers careers.” Only 7 Teachers have received tenure in the last 4 years. Another teacher, who successfully passed all the tenure exams and is ranked #2 in all LAUSD, still can’t get a tenured position.
